I truly believe that ESG as a profession can only be done credibly if the attitudes and actions of the individuals involved represent their compliance with all three aspects – and I'm excited to see how we can make that happen!

In my view, anyone who is working and involved in ESG and sustainability should set an example with their own life. That's how they can authentically represent the complex and comprehensive approach and knowledge which is I reckon is crucial for this profession.

Indeed, perhaps the most important focus of continuous development in the profession is individual and personal character and personality development.

The wonderful thing about ESG is that it's not just a way of life – it's a way and style of living! I truly believe that those who work in the field of ESG and sustainability should use ESG to represent not only a profession but an entire way of life and an approach to life in general! This is so much more than just knowing laws and standards and have certifications. I truly believe that our professional credibility is determined by how we practise ESG in our own daily personal and private lives.

The essence and fundamentals of ESG is all about embracing the opportunity to become the best version of ourselves and to be an inspiring champion of sustainability in our daily lives. It's about committing to persevere and to improve continuously, and it's an incredible journey! For example, we focus on deeply understanding ourselves (our behaviours, reactions, emotions, instincts) and becoming a better person in our relationships with our fellow human beings (S – Social factor), and consistently act to keep healthy, especially our spiritual and mental health (G – Governance factor), in the governance of our lives. 

And when it comes to consumption (E - Environmental factor), we're leading the way to be sustainable! Eg. we buy predominantly local, farm-to-fork products wherever possible, and we're proud to support local businesses and farmers.

ESG is not a competition! ESG is all about working together, joining forces and making ourselves and each other better! But if ESG is a competition, how can I be more noble, and understanding, and show solidarity with my fellow human beings while solving challenges humanely compared to others?

How can I treat my employees and colleagues in a more straightforward, honest, and authentic way?

I truly believe that the truly great professionals in this field will be those who are willing and able to become noble-minded, kind and selfless people. They will develop quality human relationships and exemplify sustainability in their consumption habits and life management in their environmental, social and managerial aspects.

Anyone working in this field can become a credible and good professional who takes full responsibility for what they say (and write) and their behaviours. We must applies continuous improvement, first and foremost, to our personality. 

We must transforms our personal automatisms and attitudes to our current economic and social system in our own life. We have to transcend the patterns that have developed over decades of our own personal life like in our thoughts, habits, personality, and behaviour. And we should dissolves unhealthy, unworthy thoughts, emotions and habits within ourselves.

The true essence of ESG is to create a better world! And this amazing, wonderful world will not be created from the outside any individual. No, it won't be created from outside to inside, it must start within us! And now it's time to spread the word ! Let's the role model of ESG in our immediate environment, whether it's our family, relatives, friends, colleagues, or even people we meet in our daily lives.

So for all of us who are (or intend to be) working in ESG and sustainability, our main task is to become the best version of ourselves! This amazing process will help us build a sustainable future for all aspects of our personal lives. And the great thing is, it's a lifelong journey of continuous development! And it is, in my view, an incredible process that we should all embrace! It might be more challenging than learning and applying any ESG legislation, methodology or standard, but it's worth it! And it can make you a much better person and a much better and credible ESG professional! I strongly believe, that with this approach and acts can make the whole ESG profession truly demanding and qualitative - and our economy and society too.

We, individuals are the heart and soul of ESG and sustainability! It is from our personal aittitudes and actions that we will create a more sustainable, better world – and we all must working for this goal in this profession! If we see this seed as a tree, we must also strive to make the root of that tree strong and better – and the root is our deeply understanded personality. And by joining forces with other professionals, we can create a truly noble and powerful ESG ecosystem! And through the love of life, I truly believe that this tree will become evergreen!
